2000 Committee : Guy Lecerf (Chairman), Michel Indergand (Vice-Chairman), Jean-François Decarreau (Treasurer), Patrick Callet (Secretary), Jérôme Dupont, Philippe Fagot, Marjory Salles, Robert Sève, Lionel Soulié and Daniel Steen.

 
Founded in 1976, the Centre Français de la Couleur is an interdisciplinary association which goal is to develop interest for the various aspects of colour, and which favours exchanges among its members about that matter.

Publications : « Primaires », internal newsletter for members (4 issues a year, 8 pages each issue).
Each issue contains news related with colour events, meetings, etc, short analysis about new publications, and one or two original papers.

Activities : Vocabulary of color terms. The very active committee working about terms of color and vision for updating the CIE vocabulary (closely related with CIE Division 1, Dr M. Pointer chairman) has completed his work.  The committee is now extending its work to a much larger set of color terms of the french vocabulary.

CIE : Members of the CFC are involved in some technical committee of CIE Division 1. Rewriting of Publication 15 Colorimetry, report about numerical procedures in colorimetry, and so on.

Standardization : The scientific committee is always working about color standardiszation with AFNOR.  Standards related with color measurement are the present subjects.

Meetings :
Toulouse, june 1999. « Couleur, expression d'un peuple et d'une culture » (Marocco). The CFC was participating to the organization of this meeting.
January 14th, 1999 to May 17th, 1999. A work with groups interested by color has been started ; C2RMF (Research laboratories of the French Museum), Ôkhra (involved mainly in natural pigments, dyes and ochres), Chromophore (group of scientists involved in research about colour and light), and so on.
A spring school entittled « Materials, light and visual perception » will be held in Apt (Vaucluse, France) with theses groups, March 14th to 19th, 2000.
